Meet our 2024 honorees
Marna E. Bernstein - Partner, Cullen and Dykman
Marna Bernstein is a partner in the firm's Banking & Financial Services department, primarily representing banks and other lending institutions on commercial real estate finance transactions secured by multi-family apartment projects, commercial office buildings, hotels, shopping centers, mixed-use facilities, and on asset-based loans. She counsels clients in structuring, documenting and closing transactions, construction loans, on loan sales and acquisitions, bad-debt restructuring and workouts. In addition to lending transactions, Marna represents owners of commercial real estate projects on the acquisition, sale and financing of their assets and projects. She is the manager of the firm's residential real estate lending group. Her past experience includes representing lenders on commercial and residential foreclosures and sales of bank-owned real estate.
Jared Silverman - Personnel Director, Max Security
Jared Silverman is a Long Island native and currently resides in Lindenhurst, NY. He is the Personnel Director at Max Security, responsible for scheduling roughly 11,000 man hours. In addition to his job at Max Security, Jared is also an Emergency Medical Technician and a firefighter. Jared is a veteran of the U.S. Army and has worked for the Department of Defense in various capacities.
Jared is also a kidney patient. He has IGA Nephropathy and receives dialysis three days a week, for four hours at a time. IGA Nephropathy has no cure. There is no causation for anyone to get it. It is not hereditary, there is no testing for it until you have it, and it generally takes 10 to 20 years to gestate and show itself. In the United States, only 60,000 cases have ever been reported. While some experience some sort of slowed progress and remission, most (such as myself) are not as lucky.
I am looking forward to being one of the honorees for the 2024 NY Golf Classic to support the American Kidney Fund and to raise awareness about kidney disease.
