Donating your vehicle is easy, here's how:

There are so many great reasons to donate a vehicle! More often than not your vehicle is a lifeline that gets you where you need to go, whether that be work, the grocery store or a child's soccer game. To donate a vehicle, complete the easy online vehicle donation form below or call 800.936.4356. After completing the form or calling us, our vehicle donation processor, CARS, will contact you by phone to arrange to pick up your vehicle.

What you can donate

AKF makes it easy to repurpose your unwanted vehicle with its car donation program. When you donate a car through our kidney car donation program, you'll be supporting kidney patients that truly need your support. All vehicles are considered, running or not. Your car or vehicle donation is tax deductible and we'll pick up the donated vehicle at no cost to you.

Vehicle donations: Frequently asked questions

The IRS allows you, the taxpayer, to claim a tax deduction for the value of your vehicle, up to $500. Once the vehicle is sold, if the actual sale value exceeds $500, CARS will mail you a 1098-C form within 30 days of the sale. The sale is generally complete around 60 days after the vehicle donation, so the 1098-C would arrive no earlier than 90 days after you donate your vehicle. Please see IRS Publication 4303, A Donor's Guide to Vehicle Donations, for information on how to determine the fair market value of a donated vehicle for which no 1098-C form is issued.
Upon picking up your vehicle, the tow truck driver will leave with you a blank receipt on which you can claim a value up to $500. The sale is generally complete around 60 days after the vehicle donation, so if your vehicle sells for more than $500, the 1098-C would arrive no earlier than 90 days after you donate the vehicle.
