Heart disease and kidney disease - what's the connection?
In recognition of American Heart Month, Dr. Poffenroth will discuss the connection between heart disease and kidney disease. Heart disease can cause kidney disease, but kidney disease can also cause heart disease. Heart disease is the most common cause of death among people on dialysis, so it's so important to learn how to protect yourself if you have either condition.
Join us to learn more about:
- The relationship between heart disease and kidney disease, and their common risk factors.
- Steps a person should take if they have either condition to protect themselves from developing the other.
- Ways of managing the complications of kidney disease that are linked to heart problems, including anemia, high blood pressure and imbalanced levels of calcium and phosphorous.
Please note that certificates of attendance are available only to health professionals who attend the live airing of the webinar.
