Lydia H. Landesberg
Lydia is a small business owner and the mother of four, including both a kidney donor and a kidney transplant recipient. Her family has been greatly impacted by genetic kidney disease. She received her B.A. from the State University of New York, Empire State College. Lydia has always been involved in volunteer and community work. As president of the Katonah Village Improvement Society in Katonah, NY, she led the organization in a successful legal battle to prevent a major public corporation from obtaining a trademark on the name of the town. Lydia currently serves as President of the Board of the Lakes Environmental Association, one of the foremost lake conservation organizations in the state of Maine.
"I greet every day with gratitude for the continued good health of my children," says Lydia. "I hope that as an AKF board member, I can contribute to increasing positive outcomes for others who suffer with kidney disease."
