Katie Spillane, CPA

Katie is currently the CFO at Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA), one of the largest not-for-profit organizations in the United States. In this capacity, Katie is responsible for financial administration, accounting and reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management, among other functions. She is a member of the senior leadership team and works closely with the Board of Directors, supporting the Finance, Investment and Audit Committees as the management Liaison. In her role as CFO and Board Committee Liaison, she helps to ensure the organization is fulfilling its fiduciary responsibility while achieving its mission.

Katie is a highly motivated person, with a passion for building relationships and helping others understand the complex world of accounting and finance.

Prior to joining CCUSA, Katie worked at Gallaudet University, where she administered the University's endowment and honed her skills in financial report writing. Before that, she was an auditor at the Smithsonian Institution, where she conducted performance audits of the organization and successfully implemented its first electronic audit workpaper system. She started her career conducting financial statement audits with Deloitte. Katie received her BS in Accounting, with a minor in Management Information Systems from the University of Delaware, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
